Erik Van Hove is emeritus professor in sociology of the University of Antwerp where he taught research methods from 1973 till 2003.
He was a member of the Belgian Privacy Protection Commission from 1992 till 2003 and is still active as a member of a sector committee and as an expert on the privacy protection requirements of social and health research.
