
Günter Bormann
Legal expert at the BStU, the German public office preserving the records of the GDR's Ministry for State Security
Günter Bormann was born in 1955, in Frankfurt / West Germany. He studied law in Germany and has a degree as M.B.A. Kellog/WHU. Since 1993 he has worked for the Federal Commissioner for the Records of the former State Security Service.
The Federal Commissioner is a public agency, its archive contains more than 154 km of files.
Mr. Bormann is head of the department for research and media. Every year more than 1,500 researchers and journalists use the archive of the Federal Commissioner,
Mr. Bormann has written essays about the Stasi-Archive and the “Virtual Reconstruction of destroyed Stasi-Files”.
